When their small village school is on the verge to be shut down the children fight for their school, their only access to education.

A small school in a village in rural Maharashtra faces threats of being shut down due to low attendance. Encouraged by their young modern teacher the pupils decide to fight for their beloved school. When the teacher has to leave suddenly due to an emergency birth of his wife, the children can only rely on themselves, joining hands together and using the knowledge learnt in school to save their only hope for education – their own school.

Ubuntu is an entertaining film with a social cause, emphasizing the importance of schooling and education in India and worldwide. It is the directorial debut of critically acclaimed actor Pushkar Shrothri.
