About us
“Indian Vibes Neue Generationen e.V.”, Frankfurt, features art and culture of second and third generation South Asians. It started it’s activities in the context of the book fair 2006 when India was guest of honor. We then organized the “1st International Conference Call Center India – Indian by Day – American by Night” presenting among others director Ashim Ahluwalia, Mumbai at the renowned Museum of Kommunikation. We also curated the exhibition “Indian Vibes presents ENTER” at the famous Künstlerhaus Mousonturm Frankfurt, presenting current digital art from second generation Asians living in London. In spring 2009 we curated the international art exhibition “Indian Art Forum” showing current positions of Second Generation Asians, living in Germany, Great Britain, Egypt, Austria and the USA. Again the show was highly appreciated by press and audience.
Our association looks back on the rich history of Indian Vibes, which started in 1997. It has organized various concerts and club events and also started a monthly radio show in 1998, which is now continued by our association.
„Masala Movement“ is dedicated to art projects and events since 2003. Its focus is supporting dialogue and tolerance between different ethnics and (sub-)cultures. Besides many events in Germany a couple of projects took even place in countries like Egypt, Greece and Afghanistan for example.
In order to strengthen the structure of this culturally active group “Masala Movement” was registered as non-profit organisation in 2014. Ever since the “New Generations – Independent Indian Film Night” takes place in Cologne as official extension of the festival in Frankfurt.
