Selectress Nisha

We have a nice Christmas present for you in our show. Selectress Nisha will present one of her sophisticated mixes. Nisha will be live in the studio for a little chat. She lives and works in Berlin and spins at various occasions. She spent six months in Delhi where she also deejayed: “This was very exciting because the city is booming completely and the Indian Sound from the UK like drum&bass and other styles is coming back to the clubs in India.” With her selection Nisha wants to touch people and make them dance as well – with music brings together different cultures.

Call Center India – John & Jane

More and more US companies offshore their call centers to India. Indian Call Center agents mostly spend the working life during the night in the USA and wake up in Mumbai at bright daylight. They receive so-called accent modifications, adopt English names and are trained in the specifics of American culture. Director Ashim Ahluwalia made the stunning and moving documentary film “John & Jane” portraying six call center agents in Mumbai. “John & Jane” was screened at this year’s Berlinale and we took the opportunity to talk to Ashim. In cooperation with Orfeo’s Erben we will present “John & Jane” in Frankfurt in September during our bookfair programme.
