Three wheels, half a horse power – the wobbly autorickshaw. Now imagine the bliss of trying to get this untrusty steed across the Rajasthan desert over thousands of miles down to Kerala. This then is the Rickshaw Run. 80 international teams take part in the winter Rickshaw Run, taking off at 1 January 12, among them three adventurers from Hesse – the Brothers TukTuk, who will tell us everything about this Charity Run in our show. We also take a look back on our film festival, play new tracks and have read a pleasant book for you.

For her diploma in 2004 photographer Anke Kluß explored for two months India’s most northern state of Jammu and Kashmir. Travelling from the predominantly Muslim Srinagar to the mostly Buddhist Leh in the east, she portrayed and interviewed various people from different religious and social backgrounds. How does the Kashmir conflict effect people’s everyday life? That was the leading aspect for her project, resulting in striking portraits, fascinating photos and moving insights into people’s life. Anke Kluß will be our guest on Sunday, speaking about her exceptional trip.

Partying for a noble cause – it can be so easy!” This is the motto of Mahatmakrama. The Darmstadt based initiative organises parties, transferring the complete entrance fees to the orphanage of the Manavata association in North India. The MahatmaKarma crew will be in the studio on the forthcoming Sunday and we will ask them about their work and what makes them going
Deutsch-Indische Zusammenarbeit e.V. visiting the Indian Vibes Radioshow

In 2011 Indian Vibes will present various organisations and initiatives focusing India. We start with „Deutsch-Indische Zusammenarbeit e.V.“ based in Frankfurt. The association supports development projects in central India, which aim to ameliorate the lving conditions of populations in rural environments as well as in urban slums, for instance in providing healthcare programmes. The aim is to empower the poorer sections of society through the provision of health, education, skill-building and awareness-raising activities. The association also defends human rights and sustainable agriculture.
