Brothers TukTuk 1So, 27 Nov., 12 to 14 h: Indian Vibes Radioshow: New Generations review and Brothers TukTuk live in the studio

Three wheels, half a horse power ヨ the wobbly autorickshaw. Now imagine the bliss of trying to get this untrusty steed across the Rajasthan desert over thousands of miles down to Kerala. This then is the Rickshaw Run. 80 international teams take part in the winter Rickshaw Run, taking off at 1 January 12, among them three adventurers from Hesse ヨ the Brothers TukTuk, who will tell us everything about this Charity Run in our show. We also take a look back on our film festival, play new tracks and have read a pleasant book for you.

Sun, 26 June, 12 to 14 h: Indian Vibes: People in Kashmir - life between big politics and everyday crisis

For her diploma in 2004 photographer Anke Kluß explored for two months India's most northern state of Jammu and Kashmir. Travelling from the predominantly Muslim Srinagar to the mostly Buddhist Leh in the east, she portrayed and interviewed various people from different religious and social backgrounds. How does the Kashmir conflict effect people's everyday life? That was the leading aspect for her project, resulting in striking portraits, fascinating photos and moving insights into people's life. Anke Kluß will be our guest on Sunday, speaking about her exceptional trip.

>Together with other children, the eleven year old Sonu lives on the streets of Katmandu. Their daily routine is a fight to survive in the chaotic capital of Nepal: always on the prowl for food, drugs, charitable tourists and what they seek most - as small boys do anywhereヨ is fun and adventure. The life of Sonu and his pack is shaped by hunger and violence but is also filled with childlike moments of freedom on the streets! This film follows ideas of Direct Cinema: no narrator, no music, no staging. We wanted to understand the everyday life of a street child in Kathmandu. The story is told by the kids themselves. モLonely Packヤ.

»The Pink Mirror« and »68 pages« by Sridhar Rangayan
Sunday, 6 February in  Mainz and in Frankfurt

In a matinée at the »Bar jeder Sicht« in Mainz Indian director Sridhar Rangayan will present his film  »68 Pages«, showing different of AIDS in India. Also on Sunday at 7. pm Sridhar Rangayan will present his censored film »The Pink Mirror« at the Exzess in Frankfurt.

Subverting the Bollywood film genre of song-dance and high drama, »68 pages« places characters ignored by Bollywood centerstage - a transsexual bar dancer, a prostitute, a gay couple - to tell their stories of pain and trauma, of happiness and hope, about being HIV+ and marginalized.

The »The Pink Mirror« is a comic-tragic evening with two Indian drag queens and a gay teenager as they attempt to seduce a handsome bisexual hunk. Apart from being a drag romp set a la Bollywood entertainer with song and dance routines, the film is an exposition of the Indian gay landscape, the humanly tender bonds between drag queens in India who form unique, non-patriarchal families and the lurking impact of HIV/AIDS.

Please find detailed informations at   »Bar jeder Sicht« and   ExZess
